The Key Biodiversity Area (KBA) Partnership aims to make the scientific and research data and information held in the WDKBA as openly available as possible, whilst recognising that there are sometimes valid reasons for adding levels of restriction.
There may be rare cases where publishing information on the distribution of particular species in the WDKBA could put them at risk, or where publishing information on KBAs could compromise the value of sacred natural sites if it encourages increased visitation.
Read our policy "Treatment of sensitive Key Biodiversity Area (KBA) data" for more information on how we capture and treat sensitive data in the WDKBA, the KBA website, in data requests, and other areas where we may keep some KBA qualifying species hidden from the general public.
