Site description: Hkakaborazi is a KBA located in the northern Myanmar state of Kachin and the area covers 4812 km². The elevational range starts from 900 m and goes up to 5,711 m above sea level, which is the height of Myanmar's highest mountain; Hkakabo Razi. The mean elevation is 3176 m above sea level, and the main habitats include montane forest.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site includes 6 legacy mammal, 5 legacy bird, and 2 legacy plant trigger species. It also holds the only known population of the tree species that triggers the A1e criteria, Cinnamomum glauciphyllum.
