Site description: Este sitio está ubicado en la zona de campos y malezales del sur de Misiones, con selvas en los bordes de arroyos y ríos. Contiene la totalidad de las subcuencas de los arroyos Guerrero, Margarita, Alipio y 11 Vueltas, también gran parte del Portera. Todos desembocan en el Río Uruguay y contienen los hábitats de especies de peces de distribución restringida. Por otra parte, abarca parte de la subcuenca del arroyo Grande, afluente del arroyo Encantado, que desemboca en el Río Paraná.
This site is located in the area of fields and scrublands of southern Misiones, with forests on the edges of streams and rivers. It contains the entire sub-basins of the Guerrero, Margarita, Alipio and 11 Vueltas streams, as well as a large part of the Portera. All of them flow into the Uruguay River and contain the habitats of fish species of restricted distribution. On the other hand, it includes part of the sub-basin of the Grande stream, a tributary of the Encantado stream, which flows into the Paraná River.

Además, hay 8 especies (1 Planta, 1 Anfibio, 6 Peces) de distribución geográfica restringida.
Considering all species present, even if they do not meet the thresholds established for KBA, this site has 1 globally threatened species, which is 1 (Plant) Critically Endangered (CR). In addition, there are 8 species (1 Plant, 1 Amphibian, 6 Fish) of restricted geographic distribution.
Psalilodon troya, Andromakhe tupi, Bryconamericus agna, Bryconamericus uporas, Hypobrycon poi, Malvastrum uniapiculatum.
Manageability of the site: Bajo la Ley de Bosques Nativos, dentro de este sitio no se establecieron zonas rojas y como zonas amarillas están clasificados parches de selva. (Categoría I (rojo): sectores de muy alto valor de conservación que no deben transformarse. Son los que deben permanecer como bosques para siempre. Categoría II (amarillo): sectores de mediano valor de conservación. Se trata de zonas que pueden estar degradadas, pero que con adecuadas actividades de restauración pueden tener un valor alto de conservación y ser usados para: aprovechamiento sostenible, turismo, recolección e investigación científica).
Under the Native Forest Law, no red zones were established within this site and patches of forest are classified as yellow zones. (Category I (red): sectors of very high conservation value that should not be transformed. They are those that should remain as forests forever. Category II (yellow): sectors of medium conservation value. These are areas that may be degraded, but with appropriate restoration activities can have a high conservation value and be used for: sustainable use, tourism, harvesting and scientific research).
Delineation rationale: Los límites de esta KBA se trazaron en función de contener la totalidad de las subcuencas de los arroyos Guerrero, Margarita y 11 Vueltas, para las cuales están citadas varias especies de peces de distribución geográfica restringida, junto a las localidades que poseen hábitats para una planta igualmente endémica. Además, por cercanía (3,5 km) se incorporó la subcuenca del arroyo Grande, cabecera del A° Encantado, que desagua en el Río Paraná, donde se suma un pez de distribución restringida. El límite E está sobre la RP 4. Ya en el Noroste se sigue el límite catastral para acercarse a la divisoria de aguas y excluir la ciudad de L.N. Além y sigue, un tramo, por la Ruta Nacional 14. Luego se dirige al Norte por divisiones de propiedades, incorporando algunos parches de selva, para luego abarcar un tramo de la subcuenca del arroyo Grande y sus afluentes, donde hay un pez de distribución restringida, siempre siguiendo los límites catastrales y evitando la ciudad de Oberá y Yerbal Viejo, en el Noreste. Aquí, vuelve a tomar un sector de la Ruta Nacional 14 como límite y después nuevamente los límites de propiedades para excluir zonas urbanizadas. En el límite Este, se toma la Ruta Provincial 5 como traza, para luego seguir por límites catastrales lo más cerca de la divisoria de cuencas, hasta el Río Uruguay. El límite Sur lo constituye el Río Uruguay y la Ruta Provincial 2 hasta su unión con la Ruta Provincial 4.
The limits of this KBA were drawn to contain all the sub-basins of the Guerrero, Margarita and 11 Vueltas streams, for which several species of fish with restricted geographic distribution have been cited, together with the localities that have habitats for an equally endemic plant. In addition, due to its proximity (3.5 km), the sub-basin of the Grande stream, headwaters of A° Encantado, which drains into the Paraná River, was incorporated, where a fish of restricted distribution is added. The E limit is on the PR 4. Already in the Northeast it follows the cadastral limit to approach the watershed and exclude the city of L.N. Além and continues, for a stretch, along National Route 14. Then it heads north along property divisions, incorporating some patches of forest, to then cover a section of the sub-basin of the Grande stream and its tributaries, where there is a fish of restricted distribution, always following the cadastral limits and avoiding the city of Oberá and Yerbal Viejo, in the northeast. Here, it again takes a sector of National Route 14 as a limit and then again the limits of properties to exclude urbanized areas. In the East limit, Provincial Route 5 is taken as a trace, to then follow the cadastral limits as close as possible to the watershed division, up to the Uruguay River. The southern boundary is the Uruguay River and Provincial Route 2 up to its junction with Provincial Route 4.
Habitats
Land use: Esta KBA sólo posee a la pequeña Reserva Privada Camboatá (15 ha). La Ley 26 331 de Presupuestos Mínimos de Protección Ambiental de los Bosques Nativos, o Ley de Bosque Nativo, es una norma nacional Argentina que regula el uso de los Bosques Nativos, dirigida a promover la gestión forestal sustentable. Se establecen tres categorías de manejo: Categoría I (rojo): sectores de muy alto valor de conservación que no deben desmontarse ni utilizarse para la extracción de madera y que deben mantenerse como bosque para siempre. Categoría II (amarillo): sectores de alto o medio valor de conservación, que pueden estar degradados pero que si se los restaura pueden tener un valor alto de conservación. Estas áreas no pueden desmontarse, pero podrán ser sometidos a los siguientes usos: aprovechamiento sostenible, turismo, recolección e investigación científica. Categoría III (verde): sectores de bajo valor de conservación que pueden transformarse parcialmente o en su totalidad, con la previa realización de una Evaluación de Impacto Ambiental. Bajo esta ley, dentro de este sitio, no se establecieron zonas rojas, como zonas amarillas están clasificados parches de remanentes de selva, principalmente en los valles de los arroyos más grandes y como zonas verdes parches más pequeños en altura intermedia, mientras que en las zonas más altas casi no quedan remanentes.
This KBA only owns the small Camboatá Private Reserve (15 ha). Law 26 331 of Minimum Standards for the Environmental Protection of Native Forests, or Native Forest Law, is an Argentine national law that regulates the use of native forests, aimed at promoting sustainable forest management. Three management categories are established: Category I (red): sectors of very high conservation value that must not be cleared or used for timber extraction and must be maintained as forest forever. Category II (yellow): sectors of high or medium conservation value, which may be degraded but if restored can have a high conservation value. These areas cannot be cleared, but may be subject to the following uses: sustainable use, tourism, harvesting and scientific research. Category III (green): sectors of low conservation value that can be partially or totally transformed, with the prior completion of an Environmental Impact Assessment. Under this law, within this site, no red zones were established; yellow zones are classified as patches of forest remnants, mainly in the valleys of the larger streams, and smaller patches at intermediate altitudes are classified as green zones, while in the higher areas there are almost no remnants left.
