Site details
Site description: A lake with gravel edges and little or no vegetation, bordered by Alnus woodland, meadows, orchards, and surrounded by steep mountains covered in deciduous forest. The valley is used for farming and tourism.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance that was identified using previously established criteria and thresholds for the identification of Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas (IBAs) and for which available data indicate that it does not meet global KBA criteria and thresholds set out in the Global Standard.
Additional biodiversity: Breeding species include Strix uralensis, Dendrocopos medius and D. leucotos. Criterion B2 has been assigned at the site level assuming that the populations of these species are important, but no population data are available.
