Summary of threats to biodiversity at KBA: The main threats to the site are from the intensification of agriculture and the resulting over-exploitation of water, pollution and hunting. The water-level has dropped in recent years as a result of ground- and surface-water abstraction for irrigation (`Other' threats). Part of the area is a candidate SAC.
