Site details
Site description: A complex of five adjacent aapa mires lying between the lower courses of the Kemi and Tornio rivers. Wet bogs are most typical, but various kinds of mire are present ranging from poor fens to herb-rich grass swamps. Numerous stands of old coniferous forests are scattered amongst the mires. Lakes and rivers are scarce.</P>
