Site description: A 1-km-wide, quiet, lake-like section of the Tornio river, near its mouth.</P>
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: One of the most important staging areas for <I>Cygnus cygnus</I> in Finland. The area is less important as a breeding ground, with only a small number of birds breeding on some herb-rich, bushy islands on the river.</P>
