Site details

Site description: Located in Jinzhou City, western Liaoning. The IBA lies at the end of the Yin Shan mountain range and is a popular tourist destination. It is hot and rainy in summer but cold and dry in winter. The main habitat is forest, and there is also scrub, rivers and streams. The largest numbers of birds occur during the migration seasons.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance because it meets one or more previously established criteria and thresholds for identifying sites of biodiversity importance (including Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas, Alliance for Zero Extinction sites, and Key Biodiversity Areas)
Additional biodiversity: Non-bird biodiversity: Mammal populations have declined in recent years, and now there are only occasional records of smaller species such as hares, badgers, Siberian Weasel and Raccoon Dogs.
Delineation rationale: Digitized by Wendall, accuracy difficult to determine
