Site details
Site description: Located in southern Guizhou, adjacent to the border with northern Guangxi. The reserve extends 22.8 km from east to west and 21.8 km from north to south. It has a karst limestone landscape, and the characteristic forest that grows on karst. Forest cover is over 90%.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance because it meets one or more previously established criteria and thresholds for identifying sites of biodiversity importance (including Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas, Alliance for Zero Extinction sites, and Key Biodiversity Areas)
Additional biodiversity: Non-bird biodiversity: Nationally protected plants include Tsuga tckekiangensis, Pinus kwangtungensis. Animals include Panthera tigris, Panthera pardus, Selenarctos thibetanus, Capricornis sumatraensis and Moschus berezovskii. Nationally protected plants include Handeliodendron bodinieri and Calocedrus macrolepis.
