Site details

Site description: Located in the eastern section of the Qinling mountains, extending across Chang’an, Zhashui and Ningshan counties. The nature reserve was mainly established to protect Takin. It is c.60 km from the other nature reserves in the Qinling mountains.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance because it meets one or more previously established criteria and thresholds for identifying sites of biodiversity importance (including Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas, Alliance for Zero Extinction sites, and Key Biodiversity Areas)
Additional biodiversity: Non-bird biodiversity: About 25 nationally protected species occur here including Leopard, Golden Cat and Takin.
Delineation rationale: Polygon from World Database of Protected Areas (WDPA). Accuracy difficult to determine.
