Site details
Site description: A mountainous area dominated by maquis, Quercus forest and olive-groves. The main human activities are livestock-farming and hunting.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance that meets the thresholds for at least one criterion described in the Global Standard for the Identification of KBAs.
Additional biodiversity: This is an important area for breeding raptors, particularly Hieraaetus fasciatus. Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria: Falco naumanni (18-21 breeding pairs).
