Site description: This KBA has a strategic location, because it serves as a corridor between the core protected areas of the KBA PP Salto Encantado del Cuña Pirú Valley and surroundings with the coastal forests of the Paraná River. And, in addition to containing the headwaters of streams with geographically restricted fish species, this KBA maintains approximately 50% forest cover, which is relatively much at this latitude of the province. No biological information is available for this area. Esta KBA tiene una ubicación estratégica, debido a que sirve de corredor entre el núcleo de áreas protegidas de la KBA PP Salto Encantado del Valle del Cuña Pirú y alrededores con las selvas costeras del Río Paraná. Y, además de contener las cabeceras de arroyos con especies de peces restringidas geográficamente, esta KBA mantiene aproximadamente el 50 % de cobertura de selva, que es relativamente mucho a esta latitud de la provincia. Rationale for qualifying as KBA: The KBA qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance that meets the thresholds for A1b criterion described in the Global Standard for the Identification of KBAs the vulnerable Psalidodon troya
Additional biodiversity: Given the proximity and continuity with the KBA Salto Encantado del Valle del Cuñá Pirú and surroundings, it is likely that the threatened and restricted distribution species detected there, also find habitat in this site species such as Celeus galeatus, Pipile jacutinga, Boana stellae, Eugenia lilloana, Cypella suffusa, Oxypetalum radinsii, Phrynops williamsi, Leopardus guttulus, Andromakhe tupi, Bryconamericus mennii, Cnesterodon pirai and Rhamdella cainguae.
These species of importance to the site that do not meet the threshold or are not found in the WDKBA and are:
Bryconamericus agna, Cambeva ytororo, Gymnogeophagus jaryi
Dada la cercanía y continuidad con la KBA Salto Encantado del Valle del Cuñá Pirú y alrededores, es probable que las especies amenazadas y de distribución restringida allí detectadas, también encuentren hábitat en este sitio especies como Celeus galeatus, Pipile jacutinga, Boana stellae, Eugenia lilloana, Cypella suffusa, Oxypetalum radinsii, Phrynops williamsi, Leopardus guttulus, Andromakhe tupi, Bryconamericus mennii, Cnesterodon pirai y Rhamdella cainguae.

Manageability of the site: In this KBA there is a Private Reserve, El Paraíso (440 ha). Approximately one third of the surface of this site, the East end, is under the figure of Integral Area of Conservation and Sustainable Development Green Corridor of the Province of Misiones (Provincial Law XVI - Nº 60), whose main objective is to generate favorable conditions for the preservation of the jungle masses of the "Green Corridor of the Province of Misiones", in order to achieve the union of the three main blocks of the Natural Protected Areas existing in the Province. En esta KBA hay una Reserva Privada, El Paraíso (440 ha). Aproximadamente un tercio de la superficie de este sitio, el extremo E, está bajo la figura de Área Integral de Conservación y Desarrollo Sustentable Corredor Verde de la Provincia de Misiones (Ley Provincial XVI – Nº 60), cuyo objetivo principal es generar condiciones favorables para la preservación de las masas selváticas del "Corredor Verde de la Provincia de Misiones", con el objeto de lograr la unión de los tres principales bloques de las Áreas Naturales Protegidas existentes en la Provincia.
Other site values: Within this KBA and in its immediate surroundings, there are 8 Mbya Guaraní aboriginal villages: Guapo Raity, Ka'a Poty, Sapucay (with property title), Tajy Poty, Tierra Blanca, Yatai Mirí, Ychonguy Poty, Mab'epu Porá (Map of Guaraní Communities, Misiones, Argentina. Subsecretaría de Ordenamiento Ambiental - MEyRNR, Government of Misiones). Dentro de esta KBA y en sus alrededores inmediatos, se asientan unas 8 aldeas aborígenes Mbya Guaraní: Guapo Raity, Ka´a Poty, Sapucay (con título de propiedad), Tajy Poty, Tierra Blanca, Yatai Mirí, Ychonguy Poty, Mab´epu Porá (Mapa Comunidades Guaraní, Misiones, Argentina. Subsecretaría de Ordenamiento Ambiental - MEyRNR, Gobierno de Misiones.)
Delineation rationale: The limits of this KBA were drawn trying to follow the sub-basin divisions of the headwaters of the Tabay and Ñacanguazú streams, which contain fish species of restricted distribution; but, in addition, the route was made to pass through the cadastral limits. The incorporation of remnant forest cores was also taken into account. The E end is composed of a single large property, with a large area of forest, which also contains some headwaters of the Cuñá Pirú stream and shares several kilometers of the boundary of the KBA PP Salto Encantado del Valle del Cuña Pirú and surrounding area, with which it has structural continuity. Los límites de esta KBA, se trazaron tratando de seguir las divisorias de subcuencas de las cabeceras de los arroyos Tabay y Ñacanguazú, que contienen especies de peces de distribución restringida; pero, además, se hizo pasar el trazado por los límites catastrales. También se tuvo en cuenta la incorporación de núcleos de selva remanente. El extremo E está compuesto por una única gran propiedad, con mucha superficie de bosque, que además contiene algunas cabeceras del arroyo Cuñá Pirú y comparte varios kilómetros del límite de la KBA PP Salto Encantado del Valle del Cuña Pirú y alrededores, con la que tiene continuidad estructural.
