Site description: The delta of the River Dnepr, with numerous small islands of flood-plain forest and large reedbeds, near the town of Golaya Pristan.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance that meets the thresholds for at least one criterion described in the Global Standard for the Identification of KBAs.
Additional biodiversity: The total number of breeding waterbirds is 6,000-8,000 pairs, while more than 140,000 waterbirds stage here during migration.
