Site details
Site description: An area of mountains, with wooded valleys, scree, rocky slopes, cliffs, moorlands, alpine meadows and permanent lying snow.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance that was identified using previously established criteria and thresholds for the identification of Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas (IBAs) and for which available data indicate that it does not meet global KBA criteria and thresholds set out in the Global Standard.
Additional biodiversity: An important site for breeding and passage raptors. The site is a major migratory bottleneck, where more than 20,000 raptors pass on a regular basis (including Pernis apivorus 14,000; Milvus migrans 4,500).
