Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance because it meets one or more previously established criteria and thresholds for identifying sites of biodiversity importance (including Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas, Alliance for Zero Extinction sites, and Key Biodiversity Areas)
Delineation rationale: The name was changed from Islote Evangelista to islotes Evangelistas because it includes two islets (Elcano and Lobos) on 03/17/2015 by veronica.anadon@birdlife.org. A new shapefilie of the boundaries was also supplied and it changed the area from 174744 ha to 56.43 ha. These change has been refelcted on 03/17/2015 by veronica.anadon@birdlife.org.
