Site description: High vertical cliffs and steep grass-covered slopes on the south-west peninsula of Værøy island.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance that meets the thresholds for at least one criterion described in the Global Standard for the Identification of KBAs.
Additional biodiversity: The breeding colony of Rissa tridactyla (15,000-20,000 pairs) is also notable.
Delineation rationale: Mainly adopted from an official polygon for a Protected Area.
