Strengthening National KBA Networks for Nature's Future

Together, we can safeguard the most significant places on Earth for biodiversity. Donate today to protect life.

KBAs are identified and conserved by KBA National Coordination Groups in each country. We are looking to support these groups and the national biodiversity experts through any donations made on our website.
By supporting global identification of KBAs, you help national scientists and communities pinpoint the areas where conservation is most needed in their country. Their work will involve applying the KBA criteria, visiting sites to confirm species are still present, and monitoring the impacts on and changes happening in KBAs.
You will help the people who care about nature to apply their expertise and identify the most important places in their country, so that they can have a real impact on the future of conservation and work to stop extinctions. By supporting this work, you are contributing to creating the blueprint for where we need to conserve on Earth.
Every corner of our planet holds unique life, but some places are essential for the persistence of species and the health of ecosystems. These are Key Biodiversity Areas (KBAs)—the world’s most important sites for nature.
Together, we can ensure that future generations inherit a planet rich in life and resilient in the face of change. Join us in safeguarding Earth’s biodiversity—one Key Biodiversity Area at a time.
