Site details
Site description: This area is located in the states of Jalisco and Colima, and the altitude varies between 200 and 3,000 meters above sea level. It is an altitudinal gradient that ranges from low and medium forests to pine and fir forests with patches of mountain cloud forest in the ravines. Threats include livestock, agriculture and deforestation.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site contains the entire known populations of Eleutherodactylus grunwaldi and Eleutherodactylus manantlanensis and 24 species of bird meet legacy KBA criteria.
