Site details


Site description: Large forest located at the watershead of Belaya and Bystri Tanyp rivers. Due to very wet conditions this forest had been survaive from the logging. There are a lot of swaps and fens here. Surrounding lands are used for agriculture.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance because it meets one or more previously established criteria and thresholds for identifying sites of biodiversity importance (including Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas, Alliance for Zero Extinction sites, and Key Biodiversity Areas)
Delineation rationale: 2014-08-12 (BL Secretariat): centroid coords adjusted to 55°51'17'N 54°43'34'E and site area changed to (or confirmed as) 71015 ha (rounded), on basis of refined polygon downloaded from Spatial Database on Important Bird Areas of Russia 2014 (© Russian Bird Conservation Union, © Transparent World).
