Site details


Site description: One of the large island's forest on the Bugulminsko-Belebeevskaya upland. Instead of the high level of logging at area in previous years there are still number of old trees could be meet on IBAs (100-120 years).
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance because it meets one or more previously established criteria and thresholds for identifying sites of biodiversity importance (including Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas, Alliance for Zero Extinction sites, and Key Biodiversity Areas)
Delineation rationale: 2009-08-20 (BL Secretariat): IBA area changed from 10,000 ha to 14,990 ha (following RBCU spreadsheet of changes that need making). 2014-08-12 (BL Secretariat): centroid coords adjusted to 54°12'12'N 54°23'39'E and site area changed to (or confirmed as) 14990 ha (rounded), on basis of refined polygon downloaded from Spatial Database on Important Bird Areas of Russia 2014 (© Russian Bird Conservation Union, © Transparent World).
