Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance because it meets one or more previously established criteria and thresholds for identifying sites of biodiversity importance (including Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas, Alliance for Zero Extinction sites, and Key Biodiversity Areas)
Additional biodiversity: Three geese species are created gatherings more then 20000 ind during migrations (A.fabalis, A.albifrons, A.anser)
Delineation rationale: 2014-08-12 (BL Secretariat): centroid coords adjusted to 55°13'21'N 21°13'49'E and site area changed to (or confirmed as) 3665 ha (rounded), on basis of refined polygon downloaded from Spatial Database on Important Bird Areas of Russia 2014 (© Russian Bird Conservation Union, © Transparent World).
