Site description: Very mosaic landscape with a lot of ecotons on the boundaries of habitat: agricultural lands crossed by a huge number of rivers, streams and small shallow standing water-lakes, with a number of small artificial forests.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance because it meets one or more previously established criteria and thresholds for identifying sites of biodiversity importance (including Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas, Alliance for Zero Extinction sites, and Key Biodiversity Areas)
Delineation rationale: 2014-08-12 (BL Secretariat): centroid coords adjusted to 52°8'37'N 41°20'8'E and site area changed to (or confirmed as) 49660 ha (rounded), on basis of refined polygon downloaded from Spatial Database on Important Bird Areas of Russia 2014 (© Russian Bird Conservation Union, © Transparent World).
