Delineation rationale: The KBA Sinsicap was delineated to encompass the ecological characteristics of the trigger species, which include forest patches in agricultural areas present at the site. This delineation was proposed by local experts through a consultation workshop, who also updated the previous name from Llaguen to Sinsicap as it was more representative of the site. To the south it continues along the limit of the Cahuay and La Cuesta Rivers, excluding the town of Simbal. To the west it follows the margin of the Quebrada Catuhay between the provinces of Trujillo, Ascope and Otuzco where it crosses the Quirripano River to the northwest where the mountainous relief of Hacienda Membrillar and the town of Parrapos is included. Continue north to the province of Gran Chimú, excluding the town of Machete. To the east, the town of Chugur is excluded from the Marmot district to the Sinsicap River and La Cuesta River in the southeast.
