Site details
Site description: The Naoli He river is a tributary of the Wusuli Jiang river (River Ussuri), and has a length of 596 km. The IBA is located on the lower and middle reaches of the river, bounded by the flood-control levees.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance that meets the thresholds for at least one criterion described in the Global Standard for the Identification of KBAs.
Additional biodiversity: Non-bird biodiversity: Twenty-five species of mammals have been recorded in the area, including Cervus nippon, Cervus elaphus, Alces alces, Selenarctos thibetanus, Lutra lutra, Canis lupus and Lepus timidus. Nationally protected plants include Phellodendron chinense, Fraxinus mandshurica and Juglans mandshurica.
