Site details


Site description: Located in the north-eastern part of Daqing City. Heiyupao is a reservoir formed during water reallocation work along the Nen Jiang river. Habitats include meadow, grassland, woodland, marshes and 6,000 ha of agricultural land near the reservoir.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance that meets the thresholds for at least one criterion described in the Global Standard for the Identification of KBAs.
Additional biodiversity: Non-bird biodiversity: More than 20 species of mammals recorded, including Lepus capensis, Ondatra zibethicus and Spermophilus dauricus.
