Site description: The main habitats in the nature reserve are coniferous-broadleaf mixed forest, broadleaf deciduous forest and secondary forest. The IBA includes the wetland and open water habitats in the reserve.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance because it meets one or more previously established criteria and thresholds for identifying sites of biodiversity importance (including Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas, Alliance for Zero Extinction sites, and Key Biodiversity Areas)
Additional biodiversity: Non-bird biodiversity: There are records of Panthera tigris altaia, Panthera pardus, Felis lynx, Lutra lutra, Martes zibellina, Ursus arctos, Selenarctos thibetanus and Cervus nippon, but their numbers have declined in recent years.
