Site details
Site description: Located 160 km south-east of Kashi (Kaxgar) City and 1,050 km south-west of Urumqi. The IBA is on the lower Yarkant River, in a densely-populated agricultural area.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance that meets the thresholds for at least one criterion described in the Global Standard for the Identification of KBAs.
Additional biodiversity: Non-bird biodiversity: Animals include Vulpes vulpes, Gazella subgutturosa, Euchoreutes naso and Dipus sagitta.
