Site details
Site description: Located on the northern edge of Ruoergai County. The main habitats are subalpine coniferous forest at 2,600-3,600 m and and alpine scrub and grassland above 3,600 m. There are agricultural areas on the gentle slopes below 2,700 m.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance because it meets one or more previously established criteria and thresholds for identifying sites of biodiversity importance (including Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas, Alliance for Zero Extinction sites, and Key Biodiversity Areas)
Additional biodiversity: Non-bird biodiversity: Nationally protected animals include Panthera pardus, Felis lynx, Felis temmincki, Moschus berezovskii, Moschus sifanicus, Cervus albirostris, Ovis ammon, Selenarctos thibetanus and Cervus nippon.
