The lowest point of the IBA is Wangjiaheba Goukou at 1,700 m and the highest point is at 4,453 m. Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance because it meets one or more previously established criteria and thresholds for identifying sites of biodiversity importance (including Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas, Alliance for Zero Extinction sites, and Key Biodiversity Areas)
Additional biodiversity: Non-bird biodiversity: Nationally protected plants include Euptelea pleiospermum and Kingdonia uniflora. Animals include Ailurpoda melanolenca, Pygathrix roxellanae, Felis temmincki, Ailurus fulgens, Panthera pardus, Felis lynx, Moschus berezovskii, Moschus sifanicus and Pseudois nayaur.
Delineation rationale: Boundary digitized by Tris Allinson (Birdlife International) using Google Earth - based on reserve map. Accuracy probably good.
