Site details
Site description: Located in northern Nanjiang County, with the higher elevations in the northern part of the IBA. The best-preserved forest is found at 1,300-2,300 m. The vegetation shows vertical zonation, with broadleaf evergreen mixed forest at 1,300-1,600 m, mixed forest at 1,600-2,000 m, and subalpine coniferous forest at 2,000-2,300 m.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance because it meets one or more previously established criteria and thresholds for identifying sites of biodiversity importance (including Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas, Alliance for Zero Extinction sites, and Key Biodiversity Areas)
Additional biodiversity: Non-bird biodiversity: Nationally protected animals include Panthera pardus, Neofelis nebulosa, Felis temmincki, Macaca mulatta, Viverra zibetha, Lutra lutra, Moschus berezovskii.
