Site details
Site description: Located on the upper Hei He river, and an important water resource for Xi’an City. The IBA is in the forests on the northern slopes of the central Qinling mountains, and it includes four protection stations.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance because it meets one or more previously established criteria and thresholds for identifying sites of biodiversity importance (including Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas, Alliance for Zero Extinction sites, and Key Biodiversity Areas)
Additional biodiversity: Non-bird biodiversity: This nature reserve was established for the protection of Giant Panda and Snub-nosed Langur (Golden Monkey).
