Site details
Site description: Located in the western section of the Daiba Shan mountains, on the northern slope of the Micang Shan mountains, 15 km south of Chenggu Town. The egretry in the IBA is located in the valley between the two mountain ranges. Over 70% of the area is broadleaf-coniferous mixed forest, with little human activity.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance because it meets one or more previously established criteria and thresholds for identifying sites of biodiversity importance (including Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas, Alliance for Zero Extinction sites, and Key Biodiversity Areas)
