Site details


Site description: Xiaoxi Nature Reserve is located at the western tip of the Wuling mountains. The south-eastern part of the reserve is adjacent to Yuanling County, with Langxi Town to the south-east, Zhenxi Town to the south and Huilong Town to the west.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance because it meets one or more previously established criteria and thresholds for identifying sites of biodiversity importance (including Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas, Alliance for Zero Extinction sites, and Key Biodiversity Areas)
Additional biodiversity: Non-bird biodiversity: Animals include Andrias davidianus, Panthera pardus, Neofelis nebulosa, Naemorhedus goral and Capricornis sumatraensis.
