Site details


Site description: Located in the central part of Guangxi Autonomous Region. The main habitats in the IBA are broadleaf evergreen forest in the north and broadleaf evergreen monsoon forest in the south. Human disturbance is severe below 1,000 m, but the native forests above 1,300 m are relatively well preserved. There are seven administration areas within the nature reserve, and 8,150 ha of agricultural land.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance that meets the thresholds for at least one criterion described in the Global Standard for the Identification of KBAs. Alliance for Zero Extinction (2018): site confirmed as an AZE site during the AZE project (2015-2018). Taxonomy, nomenclature and Red List category follow the IUCN 2016 Red List.
Additional biodiversity: Non-bird biodiversity: Nationally protected species include Shinisaurus crocodilurus and Cathaya argyrophylla.
