Site details


Site description: Located within the south-eastern part of Nonggang National Nature Reserve. Most of the IBA is covered with vegetation, apart from mountain summits and cliffs.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance because it meets one or more previously established criteria and thresholds for identifying sites of biodiversity importance (including Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas, Alliance for Zero Extinction sites, and Key Biodiversity Areas) The site has been reviewed and re-confirmed as a KBA in the process of compiling the revised 2011 CEPF Ecosystem Profile for the Indo-Burma Hotspot.
Additional biodiversity: Non-bird biodiversity: Animals include Presbytis leucocephalus, which is endemic to China. Important plants include Camellia chrysantha and Burretiodendron hsienmu.
Delineation rationale: Ningming county. Polygon from World Database of Protected Areas (WDPA). Accuracy difficult to determine. 2013-08-07 (BL Secretariat): site area increased from 2900 ha (2004/2009 IBA books) to 3700 ha (2007/2012 Ecosystem Profiles for Indo-Burma Hotspot).
