Site description: The IBA is located at the boundary of three regions in central Russia: Moscow, Vladimir and Ryazan'.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance because it meets one or more previously established criteria and thresholds for identifying sites of biodiversity importance (including Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas, Alliance for Zero Extinction sites, and Key Biodiversity Areas)
Additional biodiversity: Data is still incomplete.
Delineation rationale: 2009-08-06: IBA area changed from 92,700 ha to 66,350 ha (by BL Secretariat, following RBCU spreadsheet of changes that need making). 2014-08-12 (BL Secretariat): centroid coords adjusted to 55°15'2'N 40°9'19'E and site area changed to (or confirmed as) 66350 ha (rounded), on basis of refined polygon downloaded from Spatial Database on Important Bird Areas of Russia 2014 (© Russian Bird Conservation Union, © Transparent World).
