Site details


Site description: A area of granitic cliffs around the River Duero and its tributaries. The site is dominated by Quercus, Cistus and Juniperus scrub. The main human activities are arable agriculture and livestock-farming.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance that meets the thresholds for at least one criterion described in the Global Standard for the Identification of KBAs.
Additional biodiversity: This is an important site for cliff-nesting raptors and breeding Ciconia nigra.
