Site details


Site description: A mountainous area with dense oak Quercus forest, Castanea sativa woodland, Pinus plantations and extensive areas of scrub. Around villages there are arable fields, olive-groves, grasslands and dehesas.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance that meets the thresholds for at least one criterion described in the Global Standard for the Identification of KBAs.
Additional biodiversity: This is an important site for breeding raptors and Ciconia nigra.
