Site description: A wide, undulating plain around Trujillo dominated by dehesas and dry grassland, with some non-irrigated arable land.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance that meets the thresholds for at least one criterion described in the Global Standard for the Identification of KBAs.
Additional biodiversity: An important site for breeding steppic birds, breeding and passage Ciconia nigra and wintering Grus grus. Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria: Aquila adalberti (resident).
