Site details


Site description: A large area of dry grassland with occasional areas of cereal cultivation. The grasslands are used for sheep grazing. There are three large dams on the site's rivers.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance that meets the thresholds for at least one criterion described in the Global Standard for the Identification of KBAs.
Additional biodiversity: This is an area of exceptional importance for steppic species, although their populations have been declining since the 1980s.

Threats
