Site description: The site includes the Sierra de los Dos Ríos mountain range, crossed by two gorges, with limestone cliffs, dense maquis and Pinus woodland. The main human activities are forestry and sheep-grazing.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance that meets the thresholds for at least one criterion described in the Global Standard for the Identification of KBAs.
Additional biodiversity: This is an important site for cliff-nesting raptors and an important roosting site for Neophron percnopterus.
