Site details


Site description: A rugged area of limestone rock and a narrow gorge. The vegetation consists of Pinus forest, scrub and alpine grasslands. The main human activities are game hunting, forestry, apiculture (`Other' land-use, below) and some livestock-farming.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance because it meets one or more previously established criteria and thresholds for identifying sites of biodiversity importance (including Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas, Alliance for Zero Extinction sites, and Key Biodiversity Areas)
Additional biodiversity: This is an important site for cliff-nesting raptors and forest birds.
