Site details


Site description: The site includes a group of low hills crossed by the River Ebro and a reservoir. The vegetation is a mixture of Pinus woodland, scrub and grassland. Alluvial woodland occurs around parts of the reservoir. The main human activities are livestock-farming and fishing.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance because it meets one or more previously established criteria and thresholds for identifying sites of biodiversity importance (including Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas, Alliance for Zero Extinction sites, and Key Biodiversity Areas)
Additional biodiversity: This is an important site for raptors and species characteristic of Mediterranean habitats.
