Site description: This site includes six small, rocky, sparsely vegetated islets, close to the coast of Murcia and Almería.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance that was identified using previously established criteria and thresholds for the identification of Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas (IBAs) and for which available data indicate that it does not meet global KBA criteria and thresholds set out in the Global Standard.
Additional biodiversity: This is an important site for breeding seabirds.
Delineation rationale: 2015-04-23 (BL Secretariat): site area adjusted from 300 ha (IBA2000) to 13470 ha (Arcos et al. 2009).

Threats


Summary of threats to biodiversity at KBA: The main threat is from disturbance from tourists and from military manoeuvres. There is competition between Larus cachinnans and L. audouinii (`Other' threats, above).
