Site details


Site description: An area of hills with slopes covered by scrub, Quercus woodland and Eucalyptus and Pinus plantations. Dehesas occupy the northern section of the site. The main human activities are forestry and hunting.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance that meets the thresholds for at least one criterion described in the Global Standard for the Identification of KBAs.
Additional biodiversity: This is an important site for breeding raptors, particularly for Aegypius monachus. Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria: Aquila adalberti (non-breeding).
