Site description: An area dominated by sheep- and cattle-grazed dry grasslands and wheat cultivation. There are a few streams and ponds surrounded by Tamarisk and Salix scrub.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance that meets the thresholds for at least one criterion described in the Global Standard for the Identification of KBAs.
Additional biodiversity: This is an important site for breeding herons and dispersing raptors, particularly juvenile Aquila adalberti.
