Site description: This small (ca. ¾ acre) artificially maintained pond located at N 13 degrees 09' 31.48' W 59 degrees 26' 19.30' is surrounded by grazing land. (This is part of the complex of wetland and contiguous pastureland in the parish of St. Philip.)
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance because it meets one or more previously established criteria and thresholds for identifying sites of biodiversity importance (including Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas, Alliance for Zero Extinction sites, and Key Biodiversity Areas)
Additional biodiversity: This is the only documented nesting location of Caribbean Coot on the island. About 3 or 4 pairs nest here. Non-bird biodiversity: Not applicable.
