Site description: The site consists of heathland and grassland, arable land and woodland.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance that meets the thresholds for at least one criterion described in the Global Standard for the Identification of KBAs.
Additional biodiversity: This is an important site for passage and wintering Grus grus and breeding raptors. The site is a major migratory bottleneck, where more than 20,000 Grus grus regularly pass.
