Site description: The site has deciduous forests, heathland, meadows, scree, cliffs, hedgerows and rivers.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance that meets the thresholds for at least one criterion described in the Global Standard for the Identification of KBAs.
Additional biodiversity: The site is a major migratory bottleneck, where more than 20,000 raptors and 3,000 cranes regularly pass (including Pernis apivorus 10,000; Milvus migrans 5,000; Milvus milvus 2,500; Grus grus 15,000).
