Site details
Site description: Located in Goujia Township, north-west of Chongzhou City, Chengdu. The IBA in on the eastern edge of the central Longmen Shan mountains (a branch of the Qionglai Mountains), in valleys at the western edge of the Sichuan basin.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance because it meets one or more previously established criteria and thresholds for identifying sites of biodiversity importance (including Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas, Alliance for Zero Extinction sites, and Key Biodiversity Areas)
Additional biodiversity: Non-bird biodiversity: Nationally protected mammals including Giant Panda, Sichuan Snub-nosed Langur, Musk Deer, Takin and Asiatic Black Bear.
